SWM680P Power Grout Sponge Machine – Petrol Motor

The petrol driven Schwammfx SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine cleans cement based and epoxy paving grouts from all types of paving slabs & setts, during the grouting process. It’s perfect for use on granite setts, sandstone, limestone, Indian Stone, Yorkstone and concrete slabs. Ideal for large scale commercial paving projects, in town centres, commercial premises, shopping centres and stately homes.

The Schwammfx SWM680 Power Grout Machine has a petrol motor and uses a continuous sponge band that is fed through a water bucket and rollers; the excess sludge and water is squeezed out leaving the sponge clean to repeat the cycle.

To use the SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine, grout is slurry pumped or poured into the paving or sett joint as normal; the Schwammfx SWM680 is used to pass over the newly grouted area, to mechanically sponge off the grout residue leaving a clean paved surface and compact joint.

The SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine system greatly improves the joint quality, avoiding washing away the cement in the joint, and preventing washing any grout residue into watercourses. The machines will mechanically do the time consuming “hands and knees” job of removing cementitious and epoxy grout; leaving completely uniform neat, strong joints and saving up to 70% of the contractors’ grouting time, budget and labour. Using the SWM680, paving contractors can clean grout from a paved area at a rate of 200m² per hour.

The Schwammfx SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine is considered by commercial paving contractors to be the best tool on the market for cleaning cements and grouts from quarry tiles, external pavers, natural stone and granite sets.

The SWM680P Power Grout Sponge Machine is ideal for cleaning paving grouts such as Ultrascape Flowpoint, Larsen FJM and Fuga-Pave from newly grouted paved areas.

Our purchase price includes a standard sponge. If you need replacement sponges, please click here for the SWM680 Heavy Duty Sponge, or here for the Standard Grade Sponge – for the de-foaming agent please click here:

Instructions for Operating the SWM680 Power Grout Sponge

Please read before operating SWM680:
  1. Before using SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine, remove all objects from the floor - such as tools, screws, etc. Run the sponge belt several rounds through the water buckets to ensure water saturation of the sponge belt.
  2. Move the SWM680 Sponge Machine diagonally to grout joints in long strokes, 6 to 8 feet, go from left to right.
  3. Forward motion pre-cleans and backward motion is the main clean. If grout joints are too low or washed away machine height can be adjusted accordingly or can be pushed up by the handle when in forward motion to achieve the best results. If the surface is uneven, lift the machine slightly during backward motion to achieve an even clean.
  4. Make sure the water is changed frequently to avoid foam build-up. If too much foam build-up is experienced, use De-foamer, which can be ordered here:
  5. Keep a second container of water ready for faster change of water. Please note: Use only the correct amount of water necessary; do not overfill buckets. See instructions on the machine.
  6. Never run the sponge belt dry, as this may cause damage to the belt. Always moisten the belt before running the machine.
  7. Do not expose the sponge belt to high temperatures or prolonged exposure to strong sun, as the seam may split.
  8. Should the sponge belt split or rip, this can be repaired using a contact spray adhesive available from Schwammfix - contact us on 0330 122 1025 for details
  9. During cold temperatures or after extensive use, the sponge belt may lengthen. If tap water gets too cold, change the water and the belt will return to its normal size.
  10. Do not push the machine in forward motion too fast, as the sponge belt could get damaged.
  11. Make sure the chain, sponge belt and rollers are greased frequently with lithium grease.
  12. Clean SWM680 Power Grout Sponge Machine after each use.
